February 2,2010 :The Day The Republican Party Died

I sit hear amazed that the corrupt political machine once again won,and us, the average Joe was kicked to the curb. This all in the name of power, greed and ego, and nothing to do with serving the people.

We had a chance to send a message to Party leaders, local and national, that our state can not be bought. But silly me,I forgot this is Illinois, where anything goes.I guess the more dirty baggage you have the better. The politicians wear their corruption on their sleeve like it is something to be proud of.I have never seen more people energized for an election to get the old school corruption out, and new honest blood into the system. The average Joe,(you and I), really never had a chance. How do we compete with a open checkbook from the National Republican Party? How do we compete with the many state employee foot soldiers working to get the vote out?I said it before,I will say it again, the National Party has no business getting involved with local primaries. My question is,if the Party say they represent all Republicans, then why did they work so hard to squash the other candidates? Are not primaries set up, for the people to choose who we want to represent us? Then why back in August did Michael Steele say on the Wade&Roma show the "full force of the Republican Party will help Kirk"?How is this fair to the other candidates, but more importantly, is this fair to the people of Illinois?

This past primary I asked many friends and relatives to vote Republican,so they can cast a vote for Patrick Hughes for Senator. It is a funny thing to ask a Democrat to ask for a Republican ballot,it is like asking then to put their hand in fire. They are all smart thinking people, and they knew what this election means to them and their families. They also knew Patrick Hughes was the candidate who would vote NO on Cap&Trade and help slow down these job killing policies coming out of Washington. They put party aside, and voted what was best for their family. And to all of you,THANK YOU.

Now to the registered Republicans, who voted for Kirk,Topinka,Brady,Dillard and McKeanna,I say shame on you!You people are the real kool aide drinkers. Because of your lack of common sense, we the people of Illinois, for the next few years will have to continue to grab our ankles.Happy? Please tell me how you can vote for a candidate, who purposely ignored debates? A candidate who voted YES to Cap&Trade, and let us not forget,a Bill HE DID NOT READ.How do you vote for a man who doesn't believe in the sanctity of life? The most precious Gift God can give us.Here is man who will fight for trees and flowers, but will vote against saving an unborn baby.I believe when people are more concerned with Jim living with Joe, and Mary living with Lisa, than protecting a unborn child, you have lost your way,and don't know right from wrong. The registered Republicans of Illinois, who vote party regulars, you let your state down. Are you that insecure in your own life you are not able to think on your own?Are you not able of telling a good candidate from a bad candidate, that you need that small piece of paper to tell you who to vote for?For Gods sake, this is the United States of America, and we have that right, a right that you have taken for granted. There are people around the world who have died for that right, and here we can only muster a 35% turnout?I don't know what is worse, people too lazy to take 5 minutes to cast a ballot,or someone who needs to be told on who and what to vote for.Either case it is reprehensible.

So today,Wednesday, what did we get?Well we got more of the same.We elected a man to be our candidate for Senator, who didn't do a good job as a Congressman, and runs from his own record. We have Judy Topinka, and as I write this a heated close race between Bill Brady and Kirk Dillard. What have all these politicians have in common? They have corruption around them, one way or the other.Come November,it really doesn't matter who wins on either Party, because they are all the same.

We had a real chance for change, not the bad change that President Obama and his policies have given us so far,but a change in how politicians will actually serve the people.Patrick Hughes and Adam Andrzejewski, they were the real change we can believe in, they were the hope the state of Illinois needed. I guess the Party leaders, local and national got nervous when you hear candidates say they were going to change the business of politics in Illinois, by opening things up,audit departments, and so on and so on.What were they so afraid of? What are they hiding? God forbid to have our elected officials have to answer to us,what a crazy concept huh?The old Party bosses think they know better, they are an elitist crew, and they do what they choose and don't worry about us,the people.Any wonder why Illinois politicians are thought of in a bad light, and why so many ended up in jail?

I ask all self thinking Republicans not to cast a vote for Mark Kirk.Don't scream and tell me Kirk will slow down the Obama agenda, remember this is the same man who voted YES to Cap&Trade, and also known as Pelosi's favorite Republican. We need to send a message to the Party, that they can not walk all over us and our vote.Just remember if the National Party wasn't involved in this past election, and Kirk and others had to depend on local money,I guarantee a different out come.

This might be a slight setback, and just that a setback. We have to continue to get our message out there, and hold politicians feet to the fire.It hasn't even been a year yet, that the Tea Parties and Grassroots organization were born.We have only just begun. The corrupt politicians might think they won the battle, but I guarantee you, we will win the war.

God Bless the United States of America.
