Is everyone living under a rock? Where is the outrage that our government is thinking about arming the rebels in Libya? Who are these rebels? Are they part of the Muslim Brotherhood? Are they associated with Al Qaeda? Why am I the only one asking this question? Where in Gods green earth is the so called investigative reporters? Yeah I know, they are trailing Charlie Sheen's every move....because Charlie getting high and making an ass out of himself will put me and my loved ones in danger, and yes we should cover him. NOT! I just wish the media covered the comings and goings in Washington as they do train wrecks as Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen. If so, the politicians would not be getting away with running this great Country into the ground. I really want to understand why we are helping the people of Libya, when the Iranian people were begging for our help,no, more like pleading? Why not,Saudi Arabia,Egypt,Tunisia,Yemen,Bahrain or for that matter North Korea? Why Libya.....they were not a threat to America or the African region for that matter. Iran is a threat to America, their people and surrounding region, yet we put on blinders and bow to them. Why? How do we send our brave men and women into harms way,WITHOUT consulting Congress? President Obama thought it was ok to consult with the United Nations and the Arab League.....but NOT the United States Congress? What really makes me outraged is, President Obama made these decisions while on vacation in Brazil, and it took him ten days to speak on this very important matter. How would you feel if you were a parent, or spouse of a loved one who was sent into harms way,but our Commander in Chief was not around to explain why he was doing this? President Obama who campaigned against President Bush's choice of going into Iraq with all his slogans and rhetoric, and made it a focal point of his campaign....at least President Bush went before Congress. This is just another example of this administration going around the Constitution. President Obama said there would NOT be any boots on the ground, but he just deployed 2000 Marines to Libya.......what the hell for? Can someone PLEASE in the media ask this all too important question? Maybe a analyst from ESPN can ask him,we all know how Obama likes talking to the sport guys.
Has anyone seen or heard from Eric Holder lately? Where is he,and what purpose does he serve? I know his job title is Attorney General, and that title implies he is chief law enforcement officer....but where in the job description it says:enforce certain laws, and put blinders on for others? Nowhere to be exact.Curious since he has taken this job,he has called us cowards, turned his back on the Constitution, but then who hasn't in this administration? He refused to charge the Black Panthers with video tape proof of voter intimidation because, in his words not mine,"bringing charges would demean his people". His people? What the hell is that? Does he or does he not work for all the people in this Country? Why no charges against Obama's trusty neighbor and his wife? Remember them? William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn from the Weather Underground....yeah maybe they only killed a couple of cops, blinded one, and destroyed government property. But as Obama loves to say, he was 4 when this happened,so he shouldn't be blamed. Well we are not blaming you, we are judging you by the company you keep....and for the record, the company you keep would make Saul Alinsky smile, but ANYONE who loves this Country,it makes them cringe. That is a discussion for another day, back to matter at hand. Ayers and Dohrn have helped in the funding of the Flotilla that tried to go to the Gaza Strip carrying ARMS to attack Israel. They are on tape bragging about this, and nothing happens. No media coverage of this, wait there was coverage, but somehow they felt compelled to leave out the facts of what really went down, and WHO was funding this operation. The media loved showing how Israeli soldiers were defending themselves, but of course they didn't use the words defending, but more like attacking innocents on a boat carrying arms into a area where they were told to turn around by the Israeli Army.My personal opinion, they should of just sunk the boat....what would of been lost? Nothing but some freedom hating individuals. As Valerie Jarrett's hero Van Jones loves to say,"ends justify the means". Here I couldn't agree more. Now Stephen Lerner, who has visited the White House, more than once has also been caught on tape stating that he wants to bring down our financial system and banks, and hopefully that would bring down our Country. His plan is for this to take place in May,he goes in detail on what he will do and what is needed. But yet again, there is silence coming out of the DOJ. Why? Because friends of this President who hate this Country and what it stands for, get Carte Blanche treatment. This is TREASON plain and simple, and what will it take for this Attorney General to do his job? I know he has been busy looking to charge Roger Clemons with perjury, because the ex ball player lied to Congress about steroid usage. You can threaten a white person on how to vote, fund violence, plan and plot to bring down a institution, but God forbid you lie to the idiots in Congress, the full force of the Department of Justice will be on your ass. It doesn't matter that the idiots in Congress lie to us on a daily basis, what matters is that Roger Clemons "lied" about steroids.
This administration has been talking for days of threatening to shut down the government if a budget for 2010 isn't done. Are you kidding 2010.....why is it taking so long? This administration has had a majority in both the House and Senate for two years, and NOTHING was done. Why? Politics maybe? Of course, politicians,on both sides of the aisle love to play politics with our lives and mostly with our Country. This Country is broke, and there is no two ways about it. There is no more money to borrow,so we have to make cuts to put our House in order. Every American does this every month to run their household, but somehow our government believes in the mentality we need to spend our way out of debt. This is nonsense and plain stupidity of Harvard graduates who work in and around this White House. There is fraud and waste knee deep in our government, but no one wants to clean it up. I propose that we abolish ALL pensions for past and present elected officials. Talking about a ponzi scheme this is one for sure. A elected official needs to serve just one term, and they are entitled to health care and a pension the rest of their lives. Our Founders had in mind, that the elected SERVE the PEOPLE, not PEOPLE SERVE the ELECTED.Now both sides want to spew their rhetoric, but forget about the job they were elected to do.We need a budget, like last year,so quit your belly aching and do your job.President Obama has said that only the essential would be paid, and who would this might be? Well somehow it isn't our brave military, but the corrupted pigs in Washington who have made this mess we are in today.Who is more essential than the military? No one is, and that is for damn sure. Our military, who are the BEST in the WORLD,should vote first and be paid first, end of story, not the other way around, as it has been in the past. Politicians on the other hand, should be paid according to what they do, and NOT on what they DON'T DO. If there is not a balance budget every year, then they should not be paid.Majority of the politicians only care about greed and power, and that is why there are so many career politicians......and they need to go. As I write this a deal was made and a shut down was diverted. President Obama said," today we acted on behalf of our children",is he kidding? With the money he has spent and the debt he has brought to every child in this Country is $30,419.00,and we should be thankful? Can you imagine what the number would be if no cuts were made and he was allowed to spend spend and spend? The children of the future are screwed and all they did was be born to a bankrupt society. Lucky them...NOT! As I listen to Rep.Boehner and Senator Reid with their respective speeches, and give themselves accolades on what just happened, they also give kudos out to certain people, stating how hard they worked and the time put in. I would like to remind Reid and Boehner, they got us in this mess, and they are doing what they are paid to do,as well as their staff. Both Reid and Boehner, should of apologized to the American people for what they have put us through, but of course they did not. They don't deserve kudos, they deserve a swift kick in the ass!!
are you kidding me?
This is a blog so I can vent.I don't know what is happening to this great country that I love.People no longer have morals, some seem to have the entititlement mentality. When did it start, that people should be rewarded for doing nothing? It just seems the harder you work, the more they take from you. And the less you work, the more you will get.Make sense? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

HOPE AND CHANGE?
Yesterday was our Nations birthday.......and sadly 26% of this Country did not know that we fought Great Britain for our independence, how sad is this? This is the fault of our education system as well as families for not teaching these very important facts to their children.Growing up my Father always expressed how great this Country is,and how lucky we are to live in such a place. He stressed nothing is given to you,you want something, you should work hard to get it. But in today's logic, people are standing around waiting for a handout, and BELIEVE they are deserving of one. This same 26% that didn't know our history,I am sure are the same kind of people who voted for Barrack Obama as President, because it was the cool thing to do.........well how is that unemployment working out for you......is that cool?We are a very privileged Country, and we have taken our liberties for granted for too long.We have become lazy where it is easier to stay on unemployment or go on welfare than to actually put down the remote, get off the couch and go look for a job.Yeah sure there are some who actually need help, but the great majority are content to be on some government assistance of some kind.
I feel bad for my friends and relatives who actually believed the the bull that candidate Obama spewed for over 2 years. These are educated people, but sadly, lazy educated people.I am talking about some who believed EVERYTHING that was spoon fed to them, instead of researching what he is saying,or just take a look at his prior bleak voting record. Here are just a few of the broken promises.
Iraq,out-NO
Friends around the globe-NO
No new taxes on anyone making under $200,000-NO
Israel-NO
No Lobbyist-NO,matter of fact, record amount of lobbyist in this administration.
No Back Door Deals-kidding,this is Chicago style politics 101
Work with both sides of the aisle-NO
ALL Bills debated on CSPAN-just Health Care,BUT after some fighting for it
Bills to be posted on the Internet for 5 days before voting-3 days now after calling the Presidents bluff.
General Petraeus nominated by Pres.Bush-matter a fact re appointed by Pres Obama
Patriot Act-MORE intrusive than when Pres Bush was in office
Transforming America-SADLY YES
Transparency-HELL NO
These are just a few that candidate Obama promised, can you see why I feel bad for my friends and relatives? He said he wasn't a regular politician, that is why you should trust him.In actuality,he is worse. He is a typical Chicago politician, says one thing in front of the camera, and then does the exact opposite when the cameras are gone.He only became the Illinois Senator after playing very DIRTY CHICAGO STYLE POLITICS with some of the most corrupt in Illinois:Daley,Madigan,Mell,Axelrod,Rahm,Jarrett, and too many more to list.
We all heard of the Hope and Change mantra, but come on......HOPE? Vice President Biden just said this past week,"there is NO WAY we will be able to recoup the 8 million jobs lost." Where the hell is the Hope there? Presidents and their administration for years have said because we are Americans,we can do anything, this is the land of opportunity. That is why millions have come here, to live in the GREATEST Country in the world, and also to LIVE the American dream. This administration is good on crushing dreams, and slowing the entrepreneurial spirit. This Country was built on small businesses, but the Bills and legislation being passed have slowed growth in this Country to a snails pace. This administration has taken over auto companies, car dealerships, banks and a insurance company, with the excuse,"too big to fail."History and facts tell us,the less government in our lives, the better for the Country. The Health Care Bill that was passed with backroom deals, bribes and threats, and is nothing more than rationing of care and bankrupting the Country at the same time.Don't believe me,put down your people magazine, shut off Oprah, and read the Bill and the Facts. Facts are a crazy thing, they don't lie,but talking heads out of Washington do.Now this crazy energy Bill going around, changing its name every chance they get,but what doesn't change,is what is inside. If this Bill passes,no kidding, this will change America as we know and love it.This Bill reads like a scary science fiction novel......your government will control your electrical usage, with a special device they will install in your home......pretty crazy huh, well sadly it is in the Bill.Don't believe me,again read the Bill.
We have witnessed, to get a job or an appointment with this administration, you had to either have played basketball with the President, attended Harvard with him,or traveled in the same questionable circles in Chicago.Qualifications don't really matter,it is who you know, and that is the Chicago way.Qualifications?Hell,if he cared about qualifications, why does his economic recovery advisory group, only consist of 17% of any REAL business experience? Wouldn't it be nice to have people in there that have ran companies, and know what it is like to balance a business checkbook? Just saying, but then again,I didn't go to Harvard. This President has played political payback, instead of doing what is best for the Country since the day he took office. He appointed Harold Koh,a Harvard friend,to the State Department who believes we should govern at times by Sharia Law,no joke, but then again he nominated a woman,Elena Kagan,Chicago friend, who thinks the Constitution should change with the times. But then again Candidate Obama on local Chicago radio station said the same thing.I don't know about you,but 234 years the Constitution has served us well. This is just a sampling of the scary people in the White House and surround our president.Sounds crazy,Google his staff and his inner circle, and a scary science fiction movie might be to lenient,it is more of a horror story in the making.
I know politics is tough, and you need thick skin to last, thin skin people no need to apply, unless you are Barack Obama. The media has coddled him for 2 years during the campaign, and a year or so of his Presidency, and even talked about the thrill up their leg they have gotten. But no media outlet has the guts to question his appointments, numerous broken promises, and just pure lack of leadership. When a pundit does make a call,he or she is being called a racist, and not being fair.Sorry it isn't racism,it is someone asking an important question about the state of our Country, but that race card is getting really tiring, and some point the questions need to be answered. We were led to believe that we elected the smartest man to be in the White House, but this same man blames everyone else, but him, thinks the Statue of Liberty didn't come from France, and that we have 57 states, in the United States. The Christmas Day bombing incident, took him days to respond, the Gulf leak spill days to respond, but couldn't say who was actually in charged, because that changed on a daily basis, floods in Nashville, never responded,Arizona Law SB 1070, responded with false facts and propaganda. But this a President who never missed a round of golf, vacations, hobnobbing with the celebrity elite,or anything that doesn't actually have to do with governing.
Now we are all experiencing the Change he promised, and I have to tell you,it is scaring the crap out of me.We are not a perfect Country, but the next best thing. Our liberties and freedoms are being played with, and I don't like it.I don't like being told I MUST have health care and how much,or face possible jail time......I don't think that the government should mandate every house in this Country have certain kinds of windows, insulation, appliances, flooring before I can sell my home........I don't believe the government should be able to install a device to monitor my electric usage.......I don't believe the government should tell me what I could or could not eat......it is my body, but then again,it is ok to kill an unborn baby, but not ok to put that cheeseburger in my mouth........This isn't CHANGE,this is friggin Russia in the making!
This is the United States of America, and if you DON'T like what the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and our Flag stand for, fell free to GET THE HELL OUT,and move to a Communist Country where you will feel more at home, and take your HOPE AND CHANGE with you!

THANK YOU!
I would first like to start out by saying,"THANK YOU,ONE AND ALL".
These past 23 years have been a remarkable ride, and I enjoyed every minute of it.But I want to thank you for the love, flowers, cards, and wine, but more importantly for the kind words and wishes you have given me.I am truly blessed to be able to have met so many wonderful people through the years. I have made lasting friendships, and memories that would not of been possible if not for this special little store.Grand Slam was just not only a place to get your latest movie, but a place to stop and talk, and share a story or two.We have shared stories, recipes, talked current events, and talked what was going on in our lives. At some stores, you are a name and number, but at Grand Slam, you were my family and always glad to see you walk through the door with a smile and whatever story you wanted to share.Over the years I have asked some to leave and not return,or just revoked their membership, because I felt their attitude, and comments didn't belong.I felt it was my job to protect who came and went here.It was a honor to have your loyalty to me,so I always wanted my customers to feel safe and not intimidated. You all know I am a small, but spunky and I speak my mind, but you ALWAYS knew I had your best interest at heart.Grand Slam lasted for so many years, because of you,you made my job easy.I loved what I did,and the interacting with each and everyone of you.No other store does,or WILL EVER have the same interactions I had with you. First, they probably would be sued, and second, mine came from the heart, and at other businesses you are a just a name and number.
Over the past 23 years, many things have occurred, deaths, marriages, breakups, births,or just plain life.Grand Slams journey began in November of 1987.The first year,we were across the street,Victor was my landlord, but more than that,he was a wonderful soul who always made me smile.I knew Victor since I was a young little tot on Racine/Grand.Whenever I needed to cross the big ole Grand Ave,Victor would hold my hand, and cross me. As I grew into an adult,Victor was the same great soul, and typical old school Italian.Sadly,he is no longer with us,but he left behind a wonderful family I love dearly. Antonella and Tina your Dad was a great man,and his goodness shines through you.
Lena,Ashley,Nicole,Jazzy, and Adriana,I like to think of them as "Tootsie's Angels".When I look at each of these five young girls,I see a young me. They are honest, smart, have guts, stand up for they believe is right, don't pick fights, but WON"T run from one either. They get these characteristics from their parents, who I have known for many many years, who are also loyal and honest.I will miss my talks with them,or even my yelling at them. They knew I only wanted the best for them, and also had the permission to give a swift kick if necessary. Thankfully it never came to that. Girls, you know I am never to far away if you need me.
Over the years I have told stories of the neighborhood that once was. Some seem to think because homes now cost $300,000- to a million, that it is a better place to live. I say sorry, homes don't make neighborhood, people do.Don't get me wrong there are some great people here, like Cassie who owns the Green Grocer. She had a dream, and we were lucky enough for her to open her store in our magical neighborhood. You can not only get the best produce there is,but the way she treats each and everyone of us that walks through her door, you are not a customer, but a friend. That is the same kind of friendliness we were all raised with in the old neighborhood.I also like to tell you about Alex, who has Alfie and Honey, who we all love and adore, and is married to Pete. You see,Alex tries to come off rough and tough, but in reality she has a heart of gold, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Alex is the one who when the big snow fall comes, she is shoveling in front of old man Rocco's house, not because she was asked too,but because she thought it was the right thing to do.At holiday times, she always inquires about a family she can help with food or whatever. This is just a couple of examples of some of the great people who have moved into our hood.We are lucky to have them. But there are still wonderful people here, who were raised here, one in particular, that is Anabell. Anabell we all know is a sweetheart, but more importantly a great friend.I have known Anabell since she was a teenager, but became close friends when we both were helping out at Santa Maria. Anabell is someone who is always willing to lend a helping hand, and never asking for anything in return. She has always been there when I needed her most,in particular one day in November of 2008.Comanche my beautiful Siberian Husky got sick all of a sudden, and then took a turn for the worst. It was her and Aurellio, who I occasionally tease, but I love him dearly, who took Comanche to the vet,and stayed with him as he went to the Rainbow Bridge in the sky.She did this because I could not bare it.Friends like that are not only rare, but a gift,I don't only feel lucky to call her friend, but a great friend indeed. They have a son Daniel, who is my God-Child,and I only want the best for him,but I am sure he is relieved some what that the store is closing, because dusting movies as a punishment never went well with him.
As this chapter of my life ends, and another begins,I like to give a big I LOVE YOU,to ALL "the old neighborhood friends". I have said it once,I will say it again, there are no better people than the people from Grand Avenue. We were a family within a family. Our families gave us the greatest gift, they gave us Grand Avenue, and with that we got one another. It is a special bond, yet so hard to explain to people from the outside. That said, friends from long ago have stopped by to share memories, say hellos and goodbyes, and watch another milestone pass us by.Before Grand Slam, this was the Bamboo Hut,two stores that brought great joy to the neighborhood .It was the neighborhood who made the Bamboo Hut and Grand Slam a success.
So at this time,I once again want to THANK YOU for your patronage for the past 23 years of business, but more importantly I want to thank you for your friendship. I am honored to have met each and everyone of you.
May God Bless you and your family today and everyday.
Tootsie

February 2,2010 :The Day The Republican Party Died
I sit hear amazed that the corrupt political machine once again won,and us, the average Joe was kicked to the curb. This all in the name of power, greed and ego, and nothing to do with serving the people.
We had a chance to send a message to Party leaders, local and national, that our state can not be bought. But silly me,I forgot this is Illinois, where anything goes.I guess the more dirty baggage you have the better. The politicians wear their corruption on their sleeve like it is something to be proud of.I have never seen more people energized for an election to get the old school corruption out, and new honest blood into the system. The average Joe,(you and I), really never had a chance. How do we compete with a open checkbook from the National Republican Party? How do we compete with the many state employee foot soldiers working to get the vote out?I said it before,I will say it again, the National Party has no business getting involved with local primaries. My question is,if the Party say they represent all Republicans, then why did they work so hard to squash the other candidates? Are not primaries set up, for the people to choose who we want to represent us? Then why back in August did Michael Steele say on the Wade&Roma show the "full force of the Republican Party will help Kirk"?How is this fair to the other candidates, but more importantly, is this fair to the people of Illinois?
This past primary I asked many friends and relatives to vote Republican,so they can cast a vote for Patrick Hughes for Senator. It is a funny thing to ask a Democrat to ask for a Republican ballot,it is like asking then to put their hand in fire. They are all smart thinking people, and they knew what this election means to them and their families. They also knew Patrick Hughes was the candidate who would vote NO on Cap&Trade and help slow down these job killing policies coming out of Washington. They put party aside, and voted what was best for their family. And to all of you,THANK YOU.
Now to the registered Republicans, who voted for Kirk,Topinka,Brady,Dillard and McKeanna,I say shame on you!You people are the real kool aide drinkers. Because of your lack of common sense, we the people of Illinois, for the next few years will have to continue to grab our ankles.Happy? Please tell me how you can vote for a candidate, who purposely ignored debates? A candidate who voted YES to Cap&Trade, and let us not forget,a Bill HE DID NOT READ.How do you vote for a man who doesn't believe in the sanctity of life? The most precious Gift God can give us.Here is man who will fight for trees and flowers, but will vote against saving an unborn baby.I believe when people are more concerned with Jim living with Joe, and Mary living with Lisa, than protecting a unborn child, you have lost your way,and don't know right from wrong. The registered Republicans of Illinois, who vote party regulars, you let your state down. Are you that insecure in your own life you are not able to think on your own?Are you not able of telling a good candidate from a bad candidate, that you need that small piece of paper to tell you who to vote for?For Gods sake, this is the United States of America, and we have that right, a right that you have taken for granted. There are people around the world who have died for that right, and here we can only muster a 35% turnout?I don't know what is worse, people too lazy to take 5 minutes to cast a ballot,or someone who needs to be told on who and what to vote for.Either case it is reprehensible.
So today,Wednesday, what did we get?Well we got more of the same.We elected a man to be our candidate for Senator, who didn't do a good job as a Congressman, and runs from his own record. We have Judy Topinka, and as I write this a heated close race between Bill Brady and Kirk Dillard. What have all these politicians have in common? They have corruption around them, one way or the other.Come November,it really doesn't matter who wins on either Party, because they are all the same.
We had a real chance for change, not the bad change that President Obama and his policies have given us so far,but a change in how politicians will actually serve the people.Patrick Hughes and Adam Andrzejewski, they were the real change we can believe in, they were the hope the state of Illinois needed. I guess the Party leaders, local and national got nervous when you hear candidates say they were going to change the business of politics in Illinois, by opening things up,audit departments, and so on and so on.What were they so afraid of? What are they hiding? God forbid to have our elected officials have to answer to us,what a crazy concept huh?The old Party bosses think they know better, they are an elitist crew, and they do what they choose and don't worry about us,the people.Any wonder why Illinois politicians are thought of in a bad light, and why so many ended up in jail?
I ask all self thinking Republicans not to cast a vote for Mark Kirk.Don't scream and tell me Kirk will slow down the Obama agenda, remember this is the same man who voted YES to Cap&Trade, and also known as Pelosi's favorite Republican. We need to send a message to the Party, that they can not walk all over us and our vote.Just remember if the National Party wasn't involved in this past election, and Kirk and others had to depend on local money,I guarantee a different out come.
This might be a slight setback, and just that a setback. We have to continue to get our message out there, and hold politicians feet to the fire.It hasn't even been a year yet, that the Tea Parties and Grassroots organization were born.We have only just begun. The corrupt politicians might think they won the battle, but I guarantee you, we will win the war.
God Bless the United States of America.

Why We Must Defeat Mark Kirk
This coming Tuesday,February 2,is primary day here in Illinois.Primaries are usually a second thought, but this primary is quite important. The most important seat in this election I believe is for President Obamas Senate seat. We need someone who will look out for all the people of Illinois, not just the selected few.I believe our Country is in peril,so it is very important to get someone in there who will look out for us,but more importantly look out for the Constitution of the United States.
To my friends and family who find it hard to vote Republican,I urge you,no I beg of you to vote for Patrick Hughes for Senate. He is a family man,who believes in life, our 2ND amendment rights and more importantly,he believes in the Constitution. All these and more are being taken for granted by the politicians in Washington, both the Republicans and the Democrats. Patrick Hughes will beholden to us the people, not the dirty Illinois Republican Party or special interest groups. He will listen to the voters, not like Mark Kirk who turned his back on the people of Illinois. Mark Kirk knew his 10Th district and the rest off Illinois was against Cap&Trade, but his special interest friends wanted a Yes vote, and a Yes vote they got.As someone who worked the phones calling Kirk for 2 weeks to oppose this Bill,I know first hand the anger that was out there against this disastrous Bill. This Bill will raise our utility prices in our homes from $2,000.-4,000 more per year, there is a call for a Green Audit on every home before it can be sold, and it also calls for the government to install a device on our automobiles as they will charge a fee for the distance we travel. This is just a small snippet into this 1500 page Bill,a Bill Mark Kirk DID NOT READ, but did vote YES. Is this the kind of Senator you want? Who only listens to the special interest, and ignores the constituents he was sent to represent?
Mark Kirk voted that parents NOT be notified when their minor child is to have an abortion, but your child at school can not get an aspirin without a note from the parent. Where is the logic here?
With a Mark Kirk vote,is also a vote for the continue backroom political deals with a Party who forgot what Republicans stands for.We need to take the Party back from politicians like Kirk, who don't believe in small government, low taxes, life, and upholding the Constitution. Our Founders believed that politicians should be servants to the people, and not the other way around.
So on Tuesday,February 2ND, PLEASE vote for Patrick Hughes,a candidate for the people and also the ONLY candidate who will vote NO on Cap&Trade.

We Will Not Be Silenced
As the Holidays and 2009 come to a close, we should take stock in our lives, our family and our everyday decisions. We should ask ourselves was 2009 what we hoped, and what do we hope to gain in 2010? As our Country is headed for some trying times,I can only hope that people remember what really is important with them, as well as their families. We have become a Country of entitlement, and laziness, sorry, but that is the truth. Our parents, and their parents before them, worked hard and provided for their families, and didn't ask for a handout. They did what had to be done to put food on the table. They worked one job or many, just to do what was expected of them, taking care of ones own family. They didn't believe it was the governments responsibility, but their own. Our parents and grandparents took pride in their families, not in the materialistic sense as you see today, but a sense of pride in the family they were raising. Their priorities was making sure there was food on the table, and their kids had a warm coat to wear. They were not stuck on a brand label,or the new in thing to wear. What was important was, is it clean and does it fit? They were smart enough not to succumb to others telling them what they should or should not wear.I remember my Father asking me why we he should pay to advertise someone else goods,he thought they should pay him if they wanted their goods worn.Needless to say, I didn't get what I asked for.Today parents are preoccupied on buying their kids "things" than parenting. If parents spent the same amount of time with their children,as they do in searching for the new "in item", I believe so many families wouldn't be so dysfunctional.Today parents can't think for themselves, they let outside outlets dictate whether or not they are a good parents. It doesn't make you a good parent to buy a PS3 or X-box,but it does make you a bad parent if your child isn't doing his/her best in school and you still reward them.It doesn't make you a good parent to buy the newest fashion item, but it does make you a bad parent when your child doesn't respect herself or her parents.Parents today need to take full responsibility for their children they bring into this world, that is the most important job they could have.Their job is to raise well adjusted functioning human beings.A parents job is to make sure their child goes and finishes school, and if they fall behind,a parents duty is find the tools that will help them. But somewhere along the way, parents no longer feel that way. They think it is the job of teachers and society to form their child, sorry, society didn't bring that child here, you did.I have witnessed parents buying things just so they didn't have to deal with their parental duties. These same parents think buying their kids whatever they want, makes them a good parent. Sorry,it not only makes you a bad parent, but a lazy one also. What have they taught their kids by these actions? You can get whatever you want, and you don't have to work for it.Why should a kid do good in school, or not act up after school, when they know they will be rewarded for doing nothing. And that is where we are at today, people believe they are entitled and someone else should pay.
I am 47 years old, and I can not believe how times have changed since I was a kid. I loved Christmas time, and all its beauty, the trees, ornaments and the lights.I especially loved when neighborhoods of houses would decorate with all their festive lighting. How beautiful and magical it looked.I remember going to visit Santa, and telling him what I wanted. Then as an adult taking my nieces Dana and Michele also to see Santa, and looking at the beautiful Christmas windows at Marshall Fields. What wonderful memories they were, but I also remember hearing Merry Christmas in and out of the stores. There was nothing wrong or PC about saying it,it was that time of year, and the right thing to say. Now we live in a PC world, and it doesn't matter that the majority of Americans believe in Christmas, but the PC police want us to say "Happy Holidays".I am sorry it is Merry Christmas, and to my wonderful Jewish friends,Happy Hanukkah. This is what is wrong with society, people want to nit pick on things that make the majority of us happy, and start a fake debate that my happiness makes someone else uneasy. We are a large Country, with all kinds of likes and dislikes, and like our parents before us,learn to get along. Now a poll was just taken, and it said 93% of the Country believed in God . Isn't that wonderful? I think so,but the 7% that don't,want to change the rules for everyone.Have you noticed over the years, little by little they are trying to take God out of our lives?Yes we prospered as a Nation, but the morals and humanity of people have fallen dramatically. I wish I was an adult in the 50's or 60's,how simple life seemed.People appreciated what they had, and didn't take the simple things for granted, as we do today. There was more of a family structure then, were as now, families just seem to pass in the night.I want to live in the 50's-60's but with today's technology of the Internet.Having this magnificent tool at my finger tips is truly remarkable.I was not into social networking, but during the election I gave it a whirl to see what it was like, and there is no turning back now.I have met so many like minded people like myself, who love this Country, two in particular,Cynthia from Ohio, and Jeff from Washington, I think of them as my Internet Angels. These are just two of many who are trying to keep others informed on what is happening around us. At first I thought we were a silent minority, but come to find out,far from a minority, more like ,we have become the majority. It is a good thing we have other outlets from where we get our news, and that we are not dependent only on the mainstream media, who lately seem more like state run media. To the 7% out there,God Bless the Internet.I know the 7% have their panties in a knot now, trying to figure why I said that. Well,I thank God everyday for the blessings He has given me,and in one of those blessing was being introduced to the Internet, where I have come to blog about our Country, and the direction I feel we are headed.
I would like to take this to time wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.We might have lost this round of the Health Care Bill, but we will win the war on saving our Country from these elitist politicians who put their agenda a head of the Country. They have awoken the sleeping giant,or let the Jeannie out of the bottle,or whatever you want to call it.The year 2010 is going to go down as the year of the American people. We are going to vote out those politicians, both Republicans and Democrats, the same politicians who have treated the Constitution like a piece of trash, and forgot the representation we were looking for, was not how fast they can line their pockets with bribes. We have had it with Chicago style politics, where it is their way or the highway. We are through with the secret backroom deals, especially when this President campaigned on transparency, but then again he is a Chicago politician who talks out of both sides of his mouth. We are through with the bullying, and the thuggery that is taken place in Washington right now. This administration is forcing Senators and Congressman to further this White House's agenda, even though it isn't what their constituents want.We are going to get the word out about what really is going on in Washington. We will be emailing, face booking, twittering, phone calls, and mailings. The word will get out, and the American people will know the talking points that the White House is spewing,is only words with NOTHING to back it up.So after we clean houses in 2010,next stop is changing the Obama's address back to Chicago.
So again,Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. May God Bless each and everyone of you and your families.

Domestic Terrorst from our own Government?
What has happened to the elected officials we send to Washington?Do they loose compassion for the human race when they breathe that Washington air? Did they forget their job is to represent the people, and not to advance their own agenda? I am sorry to report this what has happened. There is a community in Huron California, right now unemployment is at 40% because our government shut the water off to this community, are you ready for this, to save the Delta Smelt. I am not lying, I wish I was.Our government has ruled that the fish are more important than the people and the land in this community. This area was called the Bread Basket of the World, because they are the capitol of the world for, cantaloupe, almonds, artichokes, strawberries, and olives. These products, one or more are in our households, they feed our families ,yet the government still believe that the smelt is more viable then the people and their livelihoods. Thousands of people are standing in food lines for hours, so they can put food on the table, remember no fault of their own, but the fault of environmentalist, and our government. How could this happen, in this day in age?A farmer, Mr. Soto said,"we did everything right, we don't want a hand out, we just want the government to turn the water back on".Why are the politicians so concerned about giving illegal aliens health-care, but turning their back on legal immigrants who just want to work and support their families?Where are the politicians that want to be front in center on camera for the illegals, but are nowhere to be found for citizens that want to pull their own weight? There is half a million acres of land that has been idle due to the draught, and farms that have been in families for generation are threatened to be gone. How is this happening in America? You expect this from a third world country, but not America. Are we not home of the free, and land of opportunity? So I thought. Why has Nancy Pelosi,Speaker of the House, refused 6 times to bring this measure to the House Floor?People are starving, and loosing their livelihood and this isn't important? But admonishing Joe Wilson for yelling,"you lie", is? Where are her priorities? What about our President, where is he? Fifty two Mayors in the surrounding area have sent a letter to the President to explain the dire straits this community is in, and still no water. Is this the Hope he was talking about, because if it is, we are doomed. The Liberals and the environmentalist have for 10 years trying to turn this area into a desert. The government ruled on on June 6,2009 that delivering water to these farms will hurt the whales. For Gods sake, what about the people? What has happened to the people of this Country, when we don't value life, it is the greatest gift from God, we should treasure it, not hurt it.Last night in Washington, the Hispanic Caucus Gala took place. I just read about all the power and glitz,Mark Anthony,J-Lo,John Leguizamo,Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayer, to name a few. All I can say, is SHAME ON YOU!! There are people in Huron, California who are suffering, yet they are living it up in Washington.President Obama, said,"Our destiny is shared,we are all Americans". Yeah, then who are the people in California? You see, it takes something like this to show politicians and others their true colors. President Obama, other politicians and some celebrities, are elitist like I have said before. They don't care about you and I, unless there is a camera around, and sorry to say, if they have anything to gain from the situation. My God, how does the President has no face, standing in front of the Hispanic Caucus Gala, knowing full well he cut off water to a largely Hispanic community, and taking away their livelihood for a smelt.Does this man think, he can actually walk on water, and do whatever he chooses with no repercussions? This is beyond shameful. This is unacceptable behavior from the President of the United States. Is there a bigger picture in the plan here?Last night the ex-mayor of that community was on,Mr. Autry,he believes the government is killing the farming community, so they can start up their solar farm.I hope this isn't true, but reprehensible would be a under statement if it is. We have to take into account this green movement that they are shoving down our throats.Their energy bill mandates what kind of bulbs, windows, insulation, heating, air conditioning, and energy consumption we will use. They keep telling us we should be off of foreign oil, but won't allow drilling here, but as of today we are getting more oil from Countries that just want to harm us.If we allow the government to control the most fertile ground in this country, that grows are food, where will it stop? Are we going to import are fruits and vegetables like oil? The toys that are imported, that are children play with, are not safe. Why would that be any different with our food? When is the government control over our lives going to stop? What community will they go after next? When you have someone like Cass Sunstein in this government, who believes animals should have more rights than humans, what chance do we have? I will tell you. We are AMERICANS!! We will stand up and be heard, and yes they will hear us. This is our Country also. Remember, the politicians as well as our President is a servant to us? We will not be, today or ever, be a servant to the politicians. So please call Washington, and DEMAND they turn the water back on in Huron California, 202-456-1414. If we don't stop them here, what area of our lives will they go after next?
